Though these records are for Roman Catholic marriages performed in the church, they should be considered civil records as they were kept at the Bukowsko Urząd Stanu Cywilnego until they were transfered to the Sanok Branch of the Rzeszów Civil Archives.

The birth, marriage and death records are intermixed in this volume. I separated them into the appropriate categories. This accounts for what appears to be the odd page numbering system used. When the records were listed in this book, the pages were not numbered. The USC numbered the pages and numbered them incorrectly. In order to make sense of this volume I put most of the pages in correct order, but you will have to pay close attention to the dates.

We included whether a person was single or a widow/widower at the time of the marriage. The column is S/W. An ‘S’ indicates the person was single. A ‘W’ indicates the person was a widow/widower. The surname listed for the bride could in fact be her first married surname or her maiden name.

Women’s surnames were spelled using the nominative masculine endings; -ska is -ski and -cka is -cki. So if you are looking for a woman with the surname Kowalska, search on Kowalski.
