Reclamation

I hereby state
Reclamation
Of my ability to enjoy the following
Which have been unjustly co-opted
By events beyond my control.

From my father's death:
	Fresh Florida oranges
And the blue black silver tie.
	But not the suit jacket,
Which I never cared for --
	Let memory eat it.

From her unexpected departure:
	Eggplant parmesan
And, lest my life should become a country music song,
The sound of the train horn
	Which I never heard before
And which I now hear daily.

From my bicycle accident:
	My front teeth.

From twelve years of Catholic school education:
	Churches and ceremony.

From a game of Blind Man's Bluff:
	Faith.
